Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

Last Easter we had one impromptu egg hunt inside since it was cold and rainy and Sheridan was only a few days old.  This year we were back with a bang.  On Good Friday we had an outdoor hunt that evening.  Sawyer could hardly contain his egg-citement throughout the day.  That afternoon he asked if he could get the eggs ready.  He sorted them by color into the two Easter baskets.  I couldn’t have been prouder of his OCD.  He got blue and green, and Sheridan got orange, pink, yellow, purple (and one rogue green).  He rushed us all through supper so we could get our hunt on.  When we started hunting he was even kind enough to let Sheridan find the less hidden eggs and put some of his in her basket.  The fun didn’t stop there.  Sawyer made us hide them a few more times inside before bed that night.  On Easter Sunday afternoon we went to Non’s for even more fun.  She had tons of eggs with some great prizes as well.  Sheridan and Maverick soon tired of hunting.  Maverick was happy to have his mama blow him some bubbles that he had in one of his eggs.  Sheridan plopped down in the yard and kept taking her two eggs in and out of the basket.  Later Pa helped her find a few more.  Sawyer hunted indefatigably and was rewarded with a basketful of eggs.  We had such a great time that day and the weather was perfect.  It was a beautiful family day 🙂
