Naughty or Nice?

It was so exciting to be able to take Christmas pictures of both kids for the first time this year.  We had a few ideas in mind, but the weather kept being either too rainy or too cold.  The day after Thanksgiving Sawyer was too willing to go to Nena’s to try and take a few shots, and easy-going Sheridan was happy to go along with whatever we had planned, as usual.  It was slightly warmer that day, but not much, and there was still a little snow left from our white Thanksgiving.  Sheridan was the perfect little subject!  She smiled at whatever we did, and she looked right at us.  She face-planted once on the ground and hardly even cried.  It might have been a little chilly on her, but she never fussed.  Sawyer was more interested in the great outdoors and the candy canes.  I was hoping that he would get as tired of his stubborn and independent phase as I am.  He’s coming around now, but that day he just wanted to keep snacking on the candy canes even when he’d had enough, and he had to be bribed/coerced into his pictures.  He was a very sweet brother as always, though.  Looking at their pictures makes me think of what beautiful children they are, inside and out.  While they have their unpleasant moments, I know without a doubt that I will always love them unconditionally.  It is so amazing to think how God loves us.  Despite all our deepest flaws, He was willing to become a baby and a child Himself, subject to His parents, and endure all that He did because of His unconditional love for us.  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…” James 1:17
